The treatise says: "Other masters say... therefore they are absent there." This recounts a different theory. "Abiding here" means abiding in the desire realm. "Relying on that dhyāna and so forth... seeing visible form, hearing sound, and pliancy (prasrabdhi) arising together" means that when one's physical body is in the desire realm, having attained the divine eye and ear clairvoyance to see form and hear sound, at the time of entering concentration pliancy arises together, and this superior tactile object sustains and benefits the body. Because in the cause these three things are together, in the state of the fruit they likewise follow along. Smell and taste are not like this, so they are absent there.
