"Afflictions of desire together with the entanglements, excluding delusion, are called the effluent of desire;
The effluent of existence consists of the upper two realms, only the afflictions excluding delusion.
Because they share in being non-defined, internal, and in the stage of concentration, they are united as one;
Ignorance is the root of all existences, and is therefore set apart as a single effluent.
The floods and yokes are also like this, but views are established separately because they are sharp;
Because views do not conform to remaining, they do not stand independently among the effluents.
The yokes of desire and existence together with delusion, and views divided into two, are named graspings;
Ignorance is not established separately, because it is not capable of grasping."
