餘道學修八者，餘道，謂雜修及修五通諸解脫道及加行道并勝進道，名為餘道。學修八者，學位雜修及修五通諸解脫道及加行道并勝進道，未來修八，除盡、無生智。

[Regarding] "A śaikṣa cultivates eight": in the stage of a śaikṣa, in the various paths of liberation, preparatory paths, and distinguished paths of mixed cultivation and cultivating the five supernormal knowledges, one cultivates eight in the future, excluding the knowledges of exhaustion and non-arising.
