27.14

宿住死生俗者，一第八、宿住隨念智力，能知過去宿住事故。二第九、死生智力，能知眾生死此生彼故。此二智力緣事法故，俗智為體。

'Former abodes and death and rebirth are conventional': First, the eighth, the knowledge-power of recollecting former abodes, because it is able to know past events of former abodes. Second, the ninth, the knowledge-power of death and rebirth, because it is able to know sentient beings dying here and being born there. Because these two knowledge-powers take concrete phenomena as objects, they have conventional knowledge as their nature.
