從此大文第二，遮外道難，是數論、勝論外道難也。論云：「此中外道執我者言：『若許有情轉趣餘世，即我所執有我義成。』今為遮彼。」頌曰：

From here is the second major section, refuting the objections of tīrthikas, which are objections raised by the Sāṃkhya and Vaiśeṣika tīrthikas. The treatise says: "Here, tīrthikas who adhere to a self say: 'If you grant that sentient beings transition to other lives, then our asserted doctrine of having a self is established.' Now to refute them," the verse says:
