種子識中，樂著戲論等者，此有三解。即言說及分別皆名戲論，以現行為因，所生種子異熟識，即名言熏習種子是。二解，即所生現行異熟識，名種子依，依熏習因是種故。三解：通取現種。

Regarding "in the seed-consciousness, taking pleasure in conceptual proliferation and so forth": there are three explanations. Namely, both speech and conceptual discrimination are called conceptual proliferation; taking the active [consciousness] as cause, the seed-vipāka consciousness produced is precisely the seed of nominal perfuming. The second explanation is: precisely the produced active vipāka consciousness is called the seed basis, because it relies on the cause of perfuming, which is the seed. The third explanation: it encompasses both active and seed.
