由變異因者，即發業心剎那滅故，果隨因變，不同正量等，先滅後生，故先生處不生。

'Due to the cause of transformation' means that because the mind that initiates action ceases in an instant, the result transforms in accordance with the cause; this differs from the Sammatīya and others, who hold that ceasing precedes and arising follows, so that nothing arises in the place where it originally arose.
