又解：初句顯有漏種，隨逐本識，成有漏無記，用依體義；後句顯此種子雖依本識生善染等功能，仍異非唯全一，故名依附，用各別義。

Another explanation: The first phrase reveals that defiled seeds follow the foundational consciousness and become defiled and indeterminate, which is the meaning of function depending on substance; the latter phrase reveals that although these seeds depend on the foundational consciousness to generate functions such as wholesome and defiled, they are still distinct and not purely one, hence it is named dependent, which is the meaning of functions being distinct.
