The text states: 'unshared objects' means unshared with the five consciousnesses. Why is it that among the aggregates there are only three, and the aggregate of consciousness is not mentioned? For this there are three explanations. One explanation: It is subsumed under the gate of intrinsic nature, hence it is excluded. Another explanation: The self-witnessing and self-witnessing-of-the-self-witnessing aspects of the five consciousnesses also take the aggregate of consciousness as an object, hence it is subsumed under shared objects. Another explanation: Among the six internal bases, since there is already the mental base, it is therefore excluded.
