自下明生，先問後答。答中文三，一、明中有方便生，二、爾時父母貪愛俱極下，明生有根本生，三、第二卷中，又羯邏藍漸增長時下，明本有漸增長。

Hereafter, birth is explained; first a question, then the answer. Within the answer there are three parts: first, explaining the birth through expedients of the intermediate existence (antarābhava); second, from 'At that time, the parents' greed and craving both reach their peak' onward, explaining the fundamental birth of the birth-existence (upapattibhava); third, in the second fascicle, from 'Furthermore, when the kalala gradually grows' onward, explaining the gradual growth of prime existence (pūrvakālabhava).
