基師云：此中言菩薩名信佛語應強信，自知無慧眼於如來所說不應生謗，但知自無知不應誹謗，推佛能知等，是此中意也。

Master Ji says: The statement here that a bodhisattva is called one who believes the Buddha's words means that he should have resolute faith; knowing that he himself lacks the eye of wisdom, he should not give rise to slander regarding what the Tathāgata has taught, but merely knowing that he himself lacks knowledge, he should not slander, deferring that the Buddha is able to know, and so forth—this is the meaning here.
