Ji says: The ten marks are as in the Bodhisattvabhūmi. In this, the second was opened into two by that [translation]: too depressed being one, and too elevated being one. It subsumed the sixth, proper conduct, and the seventh, pure livelihood, into one; in reality, the meanings of proper conduct and pure livelihood are distinct and cannot be made into one; that was an error of theirs. In this second, the excessively elevated morality: regarding 'improper place', it means that based on a major fault regarding the precepts, one then observes what is an improper place; the place that can be observed is called the place-fault, and this place that can be observed or cannot be observed is the improper place; if an excessively elevated fault reaches this improper place, regret and shame may arise.
