11.125

藏隱六方者，彼問佛言：如我事於六方鬼神未知佛法亦同我否？佛言；我佛法中亦說眾生事於六方，但不同汝，所謂父母為東方，師長為南方，妻子為西方，親友為北方，奴僕為下方，高德沙門為上方，供事六方名為藏隱。

As for 'concealing the six directions': he asked the Buddha, saying: 'As I worship the spirits of the six directions, I do not know whether the Buddha-dharma also does the same as I do?' The Buddha said: 'In my Buddha-dharma, it is also taught that sentient beings worship the six directions, but not in the same way as you: father and mother are the east; teachers are the south; wife and children are the west; friends and relatives are the north; servants and slaves are the nadir; and śramaṇas of high virtue are the zenith. Revering and serving the six directions is termed concealing.'
