泰云：初三句為說菩薩乘三品，謂見修無學三道也。次三句為說緣覺乘三品道也。後三句為說聲聞三品道也。又初是上中分三品，次是中中分三品，後是下中分三品。

Tai says: The first three phrases are the exposition of the three grades of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, namely the three paths of seeing, cultivation, and beyond training. The next three phrases are the exposition of the three grades of the path of the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. The last three phrases are the exposition of the three grades of the path of the Śrāvaka Vehicle. Furthermore, the first is divided into three grades among the higher; the next is divided into three grades among the middle; the last is divided into three grades among the lower.
