Therefore the *Dàzhìdù lùn* states: Maitreya has three births; stated among humans, excluding the body of attaining buddhahood, it thus speaks of three; second, the final body; third, sitting on the site of awakening. These two are strictly limited to the status of the body of attaining buddhahood. This is so for the emanation body; although there is no explicit text for the two enjoyment bodies, by analogy to this it should be understood: for the self-enjoyment body, before the seventh bhūmi it is called "bound to one birth," after the eighth bhūmi it is called "final body" because there are no further births, and dwelling on the lotus throne is called "sitting on the site of awakening"; for the other-enjoyment body, like Avalokiteśvara's preceding body, it is called "bound to one birth," the body of Avalokiteśvara is called "final body," and dwelling on the seven-jeweled throne is called "sitting on the site of awakening." The Dharma body has no birth, so it lacks this meaning.
