第三、明發心相狀文亦四句，地論云：以何義故生如是心。經云：是心大悲為首等有十句，則以大悲為總句，餘九此中差別。

Third, the passage explaining the manner of generating the mind also has four phrases. The Daśabhūmika-śāstra states: 'By what cause is such a mind generated?' The sūtra states: 'This mind has great compassion as its foremost,' and so forth, having ten phrases, where great compassion is the general phrase, and the remaining nine are the distinctions here.
