The treatise explains this by stating that one who attains the consecration is to be understood in accordance with the following six matters as they are explained: depending on what kind of seat, what kind of body and bodily size, what kind of retinue, what kind of signs, what kind of place of emergence, and what kind of status is attained, up to extensive explanations. Now, saying here that they "attain the seat commensurate with all buddhas" refers to the first: depending on what kind of seat. The seat has ten aspects: (1) the aspect of arising, as the sūtra states that a great jewel lotus king immediately emerges; (2) the aspect of measurement, as the sūtra states that its circumference is like ten asaṃkhyeya hundreds of thousands of great trichiliocosms; (3) the aspect of excellence, as the sūtra states that it is adorned with numerous jewels; (4) the aspect of ground, as the sūtra states that it transcends the realms of the world; (5) the aspect of cause, as the sūtra states that it is born of worldly roots of good; (6) the aspect of accomplishment, as the sūtra states that it is accomplished through the realm of practicing the nature of the suchness of all dharmas; (7) the aspect of ultimate truth, as the sūtra states that its radiance skillfully illuminates the entire dharma realm, where "skillfully illuminating" refers to correct contemplation; (8) the aspect of merit, as the sūtra states that it transcends the realms of all the devas; (9) the aspect of substance, as the sūtra states that great lapis lazuli and mani jewels form its stem, and so forth; and (10) the aspect of complete adornment, as the sūtra states that the body of the lotus has immeasurable radiance, is interspersed with numerous jewels within, and is covered over by an immeasurable jeweled net above.
