基更解云：生前不平等謂心想造作等無故苦自然不生，非但自然不生，今因亦無故不成平等，自然與因皆不生者，即雙重解果因俱生義，即第三不生第四不成平等也，如舊云第五畢竟寂滅平等，當今言畢竟本寂平等性故。

Ji further explains: The inequality prior to production means that because mental construction and so forth are absent, suffering is naturally not produced; not only is it naturally not produced, but its causes are also absent, hence it is the equality of non-establishment. "Both nature and causes are not produced" doubly explains the meaning of the simultaneous production of fruition and cause; that is, the third is non-production and the fourth is the equality of non-establishment. As the old [version] says, fifth, "the equality of ultimate quiescence", this corresponds now to "because of the equality of being ultimately and fundamentally quiescent".
