言除大種色等者，此據內塵大小為論，當知外山河等下分別持種，但由內識內根持外種生。

Regarding "Excluding the great elements and physical matter, etc.": this is discussed in terms of the internal elements, great and small; one should know that external mountains, rivers, and so forth are distinguished below as holding seeds, but it is only by internal consciousness and internal faculties holding external seeds that they arise.
