Jing, in supplementing omissions, says: If one commits an offense of non-cohabitation, being temporarily cast out is called living separately, while being permanently expelled is called non-cohabitation. Now it is explained: what the Vinaya calls 'destroying the two paths' refers to the non-Buddhists here; a novice stealing the hearing of the Great Dharma is called a 'thief living [among the saṃgha]'; an adjacent novice committing a grave offense is 'non-cohabitation'.
