三辨名，云順趣種種所緣境義者，如言說名順種種所詮之義，八識四蘊其義亦爾，起必順趣所緣境義，依言說名，從喻名名。

Third, distinguishing name (nāma): stating the meaning of conforming and tending toward various objective domains: just as spoken names conform to the various meanings they express, the meaning of the eight consciousnesses and four aggregates is also like this; in arising, they necessarily conform and tend toward the meaning of the objective domain; based on spoken names, they are named 'name' by metaphor.
