次辨無色根得捨中，先辨異熟根，意根、命根，還約善趣是勝，惡趣是劣，以明得捨。若諸受根，人天有勝善喜樂，惡趣有劣憂苦，死此生彼，故有得捨劣取勝，隨所應。

Next, in distinguishing the acquisition and loss of formless faculties: it first distinguishes the vipāka faculties—the mind faculty and the life faculty—again in terms of a good destiny being superior and a bad destiny being inferior, to explain acquisition and loss. As for the feeling faculties, humans and devas have superior, good joy and pleasure, while bad destinies have inferior grief and pain; dying here and being born there, there is accordingly acquisition and loss, taking the superior or taking the inferior according to what is appropriate.
