疑中，猶預二分等者，謂於有無二分心不決了。略有五相等者，此有兩判。一釋，初疑過未世；二、疑因用；三、疑因所生果；四、疑四諦；五、疑。泰、基同云：一、疑無他世體；二、疑無業；三、疑無因果；四、疑無諦；五、無疑寶。

Regarding doubt (vicikitsā), "vacillating between two alternatives, etc.," means that regarding the two alternatives of existence and nonexistence the mind is not decisive. Regarding "having five characteristics in brief, etc.," there are two interpretations. One explanation: first, doubting the past and future worlds; second, doubting causal function; third, doubting the fruit produced by cause; fourth, doubting the four truths; fifth, doubting [the Three Jewels]. Tai and Ji both say: 1. Doubting the absence of the substance of another world; 2. Doubting the absence of karma; 3. Doubting the absence of cause and effect; 4. Doubting the absence of the truths; 5. Doubting the absence of the Jewels.
