The Tripiṭaka Master says: 'Naturally there are two approaches: First, the approach of arising defilements through confusion regarding the truths; therefore, all the truths have ten kinds. Second, the approach of abandoning defilements through the modes of the truths: for example, under the truth of suffering, there are the modes of emptiness and non-self as the antidote, so there is the view of self as the object of elimination; since there is the mode of impermanence as the antidote, there is the view of extremes grasping at permanence as the object of elimination. Therefore, under suffering there are all ten defilements; the other truths lack this antidotal path, and hence lack the two views of self and extremes as objects of elimination.'
