Regarding 'one's own and others' existing' up to 'then manifest': according to the Hīnayāna, ordinary beings with the six aspects sever both seeing and cultivation, and their bodies being in a lower stage, they can generate afflictions of seeing of a higher stage. Now the Mahāyāna says that for ordinary beings the worldly path of the six aspects only severs by cultivation, suppressing discriminations that arise as afflictions, and does not suppress what is innate (sahaja). Because what arises spontaneously is difficult to guard against, and the afflictions of seeing are subtle and arise by being deluded about principle and facts, they also cannot suppress them. Therefore, when an ordinary being's body is in a lower stage and suppresses the lower afflictions of cultivation, the higher stage's afflictions of cultivation can arise and manifest; when meeting conditions, the lower stage's afflictions of seeing still arise, while the higher stage's afflictions of seeing cannot manifest.
