Tai says: 'If in absorption' means that an outsider enters absorption, and seeing before eighty thousand kalpas in the past as causeless, immediately generates the view of permanence; entering and emerging with absorption and according with absorption, it is named 'if in absorption.' What does not accord with absorption is named 'if arising.' With the body born there and arising, it is named 'if being born.' Among the taints severed by the view-affliction, whether discriminated or non-discriminated, both can arise; among the taints severed by cultivation, only the non-discriminated arise, while the discriminated are suppressed and do not arise.
