Second, explaining the six realms conducive to deliverance. Jing says: It means that three persons have concentration with three conditions, which makes six. Whether the three persons or the three concentrations, all are conducive to the realm of deliverance, which is the essence of nirvāṇa. First, the cultivator of higher mind has concentration focused on sentient beings with respect to the four [types of] sentient beings; this is the ordinary person within the Dharma. Second, the one who diligently cultivates and proceeds toward the culmination has concentration focused on phenomena; this stage is in the path of cultivation and extends to the non-learner. Third, the one who diligently cultivates direct realization of the truths has concentration focused on phenomena; this stage is prior to the path of seeing, generating mental application that seeks direct realization of the truths, wishing to make sentient beings identical with oneself in jointly seeing the established and non-established truths; this is called concentration focused on phenomena.
