下明八種棄捨近住弟子因緣。測云：前約聖者辨不堪忍，此約異生辨不堪忍。今解：不爾。判文如初。

Below, the eight causes and conditions for discarding resident disciples are explained. Ce says: The preceding was in terms of noble ones distinguishing what cannot be endured; this is in terms of ordinary beings distinguishing what cannot be endured. Now it is explained: It is not so. The division of the text is as at first.
