言不可知一類器境者，泰云：有二義。一、理實而言，念念隨本識起滅，而一類相續相似，不同同內抑起滅可知；二、眾人本識所現各別由如眾燈現明各別同在一處，一類差別難知，不同內報本識現前差別，可知。

Regarding "the ungraspable, uniform receptacle realm": Tai says: 'There are two meanings. First: speaking in terms of actual principle, moment to moment it arises and ceases along with the fundamental consciousness, yet it continues in a uniform and similar manner, unlike the internal [retribution whose] suppression, arising, and ceasing can be known. Second: what is manifested by the fundamental consciousnesses of various beings is individually distinct, just as the illumination manifested by multiple lamps is individually distinct while co-existing in one place; its uniform differences are difficult to know, unlike the differences manifesting in the internal retribution of the fundamental consciousness, which can be known.'
