"In subtle atoms of non-non-common primary elements, just as derived forms and other primary elements [are co-located], it should be known that there is also non-separation in the same spatial location": taking for example a human hand, it possesses all four primary elements: solidity is earth, moisture is water, warmth is fire, and motility is wind. These four primary elements together produce the single hand; because their functions are identical, their substances contain one another, and their spatial location is not distinct, it is subsumed under 'co-locational non-separation'. Since this characteristic is not yet clear, a simile is further adduced to illustrate it: to what is the mutual pervasion of the four primary elements comparable? Thus it says: just as derived forms and the other primary elements interpenetrate and pervade one another throughout their substance, the mutual pervasion of the four primary elements is likewise in meaning; one should know that there is also non-separation in the same spatial location.
