Where it says: "However, those primary elements are not derived forms, because they operate without being mutually dependent, and each has its own capacity to occupy a distinct location," the resolution says: If it is a derived form, it must depend on primary elements before it can arise, having no separate capacity to arise and occupy a location, and because it is co-extensive and mutually receptive with the primary elements, it is 'derived'. The four primary elements are not like this: they operate by themselves without mutually depending on one another, and each has its own capacity to arise and occupy a location; although their substances are mutually receptive, in relation to one another they are neither producer nor produced.
