From "Furthermore, non-separation in one location..." downward, the characteristics of the three kinds of non-separation are distinguished again. Tai says: As within an aggregate of a single non-common earth element, from subtle atoms upward the various earth elements are connected and combined, one should know that only then is there the form of the various earth elements with mixed non-separation. However, the earth element does not contain the earth element itself; hence there is no form of the various earth elements that is non-separated in one location, because the earth element does not produce various forms through the earth element; having no function, it does not contain itself. In an aggregate of non-non-common primary elements, the subtle atoms of the primary elements, according to the measure of the derived forms, mutually penetrate and enter into the same spatial location, just as the earth element and other primary elements such as water and fire together produce a single form. One should know that there is also non-separation in the same spatial location. If the primary elements in relation to one another were to produce forms separately, they would be separated. Those primary elements that are non-separated in the same location are, in relation to different primary elements, not derived forms, because they operate without being mutually dependent; hypothetically speaking, each has its own capacity to occupy a separate location and can operate separately; hence one knows that in the same location they are not mutually dependent.
