As for the indeterminate mind taking the three realms as object, this refers to the mind born of maturation arising alone, as well as the mind born of maturation induced by the subsequent outflow following the minds of deportment and craft, which is also called deportment mind or craft mind taking [them] as object; it refers to casually taking objects without seeking and without defilement. Furthermore, the eighth consciousness also takes the three realms as object, because of the dharma of seeds. Regarding the statement that the form realm's wholesome mental orientation takes as object the phenomena of the three realms: here it should also mention defiled mind and indeterminate mind. How is it defiled mind? As the fifty-ninth fascicle says: afflictions of the form realm operating towards desire refer to afflictions that take the higher as object, pride that takes the lower as object, and, as before, the sixth [consciousness's] view of self toward form; because it is subtle, and the indeterminate mind born of maturation [is also subtle], they are omitted and not stated.
