言後於修道乃至能總對治下地上地一切煩惱者，此文即說從初果總斷修惑越證羅漢也。泰云：此據總以三界九地修惑為九品，亦總以三界有染法為苦集，總以三界法類分無染法為滅道，總觀三界四諦為方便入無相觀，故九地惑總為九品，九無間九解脫斷，自有聖人別斷三界九地惑者，別為法類。

Regarding the statement, "subsequently in the path of cultivation" up to "is able to comprehensively counter all defilements of the lower stages and higher stages": this text speaks of comprehensively severing the defilements abandoned by cultivation from the first fruit and leaping to the realization of the arhat. Tai says: This is based on comprehensively taking the defilements abandoned by cultivation in the nine stages of the three realms as nine grades, and also comprehensively taking all defiled phenomena of the three realms as suffering and origin, comprehensively dividing the undefiled phenomena into dharma and subsequent categories of the three realms as cessation and path, and comprehensively contemplating the four truths of the three realms as an expedient means to enter signless contemplation. Therefore, the defilements of the nine stages are comprehensively made into nine grades, severed by nine uninterrupted paths and nine paths of liberation. There are also āryas who separately sever the defilements of the nine stages of the three realms, which separately constitute dharma and subsequent categories.
