18.522

第十解受用，中言如世尊言：便利等器，不應受用者，補闕云：問：若爾何者是陳棄藥耶？解云：或是病人不能眼藥，或是病無所有殘藥，或他藥長餘殘滓乳名陳棄藥，非是屎尿為陳棄藥。今解：便利等所染器名不任用，非謂大小便等體是陳棄藥名為不任用。言非攝屬者：謂或僧祇物等者，大眾財物名為僧祇物，雖是眾數，若其被差即得法食，如施無厭為彼根本造與檀越，口別恒營，四十供種種微妙厚重飲食，依僧次食，若四十人趣若不被差，名非攝屬，設後被差不以鉢受名不墮鉢中，當己前須敷淨荷葉，葉上散食或小椀盞，雖不在鉢屬鉢，若不屬鉢遠取他分，如此盡名非攝屬物。

In the tenth [section], explaining use: regarding the words 'As the World-Honoured One said: Utensils for urine, feces, etc., should not be used': Buque says: Question: If so, what is stale, discarded medicine? The explanation says: It may be eye medicine that a sick person could not use, or leftover medicine when the illness is gone, or leftover dregs of milk from other medicines; these are called stale, discarded medicine, not that feces and urine are stale, discarded medicine. Now the explanation is: Utensils contaminated by urine, feces, etc., are called unfit for use; it does not mean that the substance of urine, feces, and the like is stale, discarded medicine termed unfit for use. Regarding the words 'not belonging [to oneself]': meaning Saṅgha property, etc.: the wealth and goods of the community are called Saṅgha property; although it belongs to the community's share, if one is designated, one obtains the Dharma food. For instance, in the case of 'Indefatigable Giving', which was established for them as an endowment by a patron, serving constantly per person forty offerings of various exquisite, substantial foods according to the Saṅgha's order: if forty persons proceed and one is not designated, it is called 'not belonging [to oneself]'. Even if later designated, if one does not receive it with the bowl, it is called 'not fallen into the bowl'. One must spread a clean lotus leaf in front of oneself, with the food scattered on the leaf or in a small bowl; though not in the bowl, it belongs to the bowl; if it does not belong to the bowl and one reaches afar to take another's portion, all such things are called property that does not belong [to oneself].
