Jing says: Question: Why did the World-Honoured One teach that all phenomena are without nature, have nature, and are non-dual? Answer: It is precisely based on these five entities taught: they exist in conventional logic, but are truly nonexistent, and so are taught to be without intrinsic nature; because tathatā is without conventional intrinsic nature, it is also taught to be conventionally without intrinsic nature, just as ultimate truth is without intrinsic nature; because the remaining four dharmas are conventionally existent, they are without spontaneous nature. However, because through their distinct characters the five entities do not realize the entity of their intrinsic nature, it is taught that these five entities have intrinsic nature; the five entities have intrinsic nature and the five entities are also without intrinsic nature; therefore it is taught that all phenomena are non-dual.
