Question: Naturelessness of character means being without the intrinsic nature of the parikalpita character, hence called character-naturelessness; paratantra is devoid of that falsely reckoned spontaneous arising, hence called arising-naturelessness, which also dispels and negates the parikalpita; and this very paratantra is devoid of that ultimate, permanent nature, hence called ultimate naturelessness, which also dispels the parikalpita. Thus the three naturelessnesses together negate the parikalpita, being entirely a single negation. It should only be necessary to state that naturelessness of character, and the meaning would be complete; why is it necessary to further distinguish that paratantra is without arising, without ultimate truth, and so forth?
