尋伺差別者：有七種差別等者，文備釋云：若依此中文，說尋伺差別者有七種，如前分別說，即知前第二卷說，七種分皆在意地，七中任運分別，即取五識同緣意識故，七分別相應思慧並是尋伺差別。

Regarding 'distinctions of investigation and reflection: there are seven kinds of distinctions, and so forth', Wenbei explains: 'If based on the text here, it states that the distinctions of investigation and reflection are of seven kinds, as explained previously under discrimination; thus one knows that, as explained in the preceding second fascicle, the seven kinds of discrimination are all in the mental stage. Among the seven, spontaneous discrimination refers to the mental consciousness that cognizes the same object as the five consciousnesses; therefore, the volition and wisdom associated with the seven discriminations are all distinctions of investigation and reflection.'
