奘法師前判自性分別是五識同緣意識，後判瑜伽所說任運分別是五識同緣意識，不同對法是其五識是三分別中自性分別，還是尋伺為體。

Master Xuanzang previously determined that intrinsic discrimination is the mental consciousness that cognizes the same object as the five consciousnesses, and later determined that the spontaneous discrimination spoken of in the *Yogācārabhūmi* is the mental consciousness that cognizes the same object as the five consciousnesses; unlike the *Abhidharmasamuccaya*, where the five consciousnesses are the intrinsic discrimination among the three discriminations, their nature is still investigation and reflection.
