世友說：世由位不同，法行世時，體同位別，如運一籌置一名一，置百名百，置千名千。

Vasumitra says: The times differ according to state (avasthā). When a dharma passes through the times, the substance is the same but the state differs, just as moving a counting-token placed in the ones place is called one, placed in the hundreds place is called a hundred, and placed in the thousands place is called a thousand.
