第三於蘊假設難中，初徵四計，然後別破。四計者，初即蘊計，後三異蘊。異蘊中，初我異蘊住在蘊中；次我異蘊住於蘊外而仍屬蘊，謂計是色我乃至識我；後住蘊外而不屬蘊。

In the third challenge, on designation upon the aggregates: first it interrogates four assertions, and then separately refutes them. As for the four assertions: the first is asserting it is identical with the aggregates; the latter three are distinct from the aggregates. Among those distinct from the aggregates: first, the self is distinct from the aggregates and dwells within the aggregates; second, the self is distinct from the aggregates, dwells outside the aggregates, yet still pertains to the aggregates, meaning it is asserted to be a form-self up to a consciousness-self; third, it dwells outside the aggregates and does not pertain to the aggregates.
