事用差別者，謂後六句：一、無差恥；二、無哀愍；三、一切有情所；四、真實眾生所，五乃至極下捃多蟻等諸眾生所；六、於殺生事若未遠離。又解：相貌則第一句；作用則第二、第三句；因緣則第四、第五句；事用差別則餘四句。今復解言，初三如次配九句中，初三句第四事用差別配後六句。

The distinctions of the activities and objects refer to the latter six phrases: first, without shame; second, without pity; third, in relation to all sentient beings; fourth, in relation to real sentient beings; fifth, down to all sentient beings such as the lowest kunta ants; sixth, if one has not yet refrained from the act of killing living beings. Another explanation: The characteristic is the first phrase; the function is the second and third phrases; the causes and conditions are the fourth and fifth phrases; the distinctions of the activities and objects are the remaining four phrases. Now, explaining it again: the first three match the first three phrases among the nine phrases in order, and the fourth, the distinctions of the activities and objects, matches the latter six phrases.
