Tai says: The five activities of the first nature are: 1. Although the parikalpita nature is not an objective condition (ālambanapratyaya) that produces [dharmas], the grasping mind internally and falsely presumes that there is a grasped image and a grasping mind, and hence it is said to be able to generate, though according to its nature it is not truly generated by the four conditions; 2. Due to the images of the two selves, person and dharma, it can generate verbal expressions of the two selves; through the verbal expressions of the two selves, it again arises conditioning the two selves; 3 and 4. The grasping of conceptualization conforming to cognition; habituating the third and fourth graspings conforming to cognition perfumes and forms habitual tendencies, and the crude heaviness of dormant tendencies then gives rise to the two graspings of dormant tendencies; these two graspings of dormant tendencies are also generated because of the parikalpita, and therefore the parikalpita can take in the crude-heaviness grasping of those two kinds of habitual tendencies.
