二、作用道理，諸若因緣能得諸法者，如六根證得六塵各有作用。或能成辨者，如四大種各能成辨自所作用。或復生已作諸業用者，隨是何法因生已作諸業用。

2. Reasoning of function: in 'causes and conditions that can obtain dharmas,' for instance, the six faculties each have their respective function in apprehending the six dust-objects. In 'or can accomplish,' for instance, the four great elements can each accomplish their own functions. In 'or, having arisen, perform various karmic actions,' whatever dharma it may be, having arisen from causes, it performs various karmic actions.
