Second, the person with training who has already entered the sacred teaching has three aspects: 1. arising and not ceasing: namely, in the stage of cultivation, when the four unshakeable purities become present, it is called arising; regarding the categories such as not speaking against the Buddha, which were already severed upon entering the path of seeing, at this time they are not called ceasing; next is ceasing and not arising: namely, severing what is to be severed by cultivation, the remaining grades of ignorance are called ceasing, but the essence of luminosity is not called arising anew, because it has already become of that kind; next is both arising and ceasing: namely, the path beyond training arises, and the ignorance to be severed by cultivation is completely eliminated.
