Question: In the first and the last two fruitions, verifying and seeing the four truths is precisely seeing the substance of the Three Jewels; taintless morality and taintless roots of non-greed are all the truth of the path. Having verified the truth of the path, this is then verifying the six recollections. Why do they not themselves verify the six recollections and declare them for others? Explanation: At the time of preparation, if one takes the six recollections as objects, when obtaining the fruition one verifies them and declares them for others. At the time of preparation, if one does not take them as objects, when obtaining the fruition it is not called verifying and declaring for others in accordance with the original preparation. Furthermore, as for the four kinds of verified faith, in the stream-enterer fruition they are solely spoken of as purification, and so forth; although persons of the four fruitions equally attain the four purifications, the names, times, and characteristics differ, as in the text.
