拔法師有三釋：一云，前二身中雖有福分善等，以從多分皆名學無學業，故除前二，謂未發心前諸異生位一切業名俱非也；二云，除前二者，除前學無學二身中學無學業也，餘相續中者，此餘語即通謂除學無學身中及餘異生身中所有福分善業無記業等并是俱非；三云、謂除前二餘相續中者，除前學無學二相續中所有學無學業也。

Master Ba has three explanations: One says: Although in the previous two persons there are meritorious wholesome [karmas] and the like, according to the predominant part they are all called karma of the trainee and non-trainee; therefore, "excluding the previous two" means that all karma in the stages of ordinary persons prior to generating the mind is named neither. The second says: "Excluding the previous two" means excluding the karma of the trainee and non-trainee in the previous two persons of the trainee and non-trainee; "in the remaining continuums"—this word "remaining" is inclusive, referring to all meritorious wholesome karma, neutral karma, and the like in the persons of the trainee and non-trainee and in the persons of other ordinary persons, which are all neither. The third says: "It refers to excluding the previous two in the remaining continuums" means excluding all karma of the trainee and non-trainee in the two continuums of the trainee and non-trainee.
