Regarding 'antidotal mental application', which means 'that through which one correctly renounces the afflictions, sustains their abandonment, and causes all afflictions to remain far removed from the continuum': Master Jing explains: 'When the path of uninterrupted progress arises in the present, it immediately realizes analytical cessation, which is called sustaining their abandonment; it does not mean that the arising of the path of liberation is called sustaining.' Master Ji explains: 'Antidotal mental application subsumes the paths of uninterrupted progress and liberation, the near and far paths of special advancement that accord with purification and inspection; or it is pure knowledge, not subsumed under the four paths. The six recollections mean recollection of the Buddha, Dharma, and so forth, as explained in the Bodhisattvabhūmi.'
