Second, based on the immediately preceding passage of the Yogācārabhūmi on understanding fruition, emptiness is as before, the wishless has six, and the signless has eight. Furthermore, the seventy-fourth fascicle, in explaining the three natures, establishes the gate of liberation through emptiness on the basis of the imagined nature (parikalpita-svabhāva), the gate of liberation through the wishless on the basis of the other-dependent nature (paratantra-svabhāva), and the gate of liberation through the signless on the basis of the consummate nature (pariniṣpanna-svabhāva). The Vijñaptimātratā also states that each corresponds to one aspect: emptiness, wishless, and signless should be understood as respectively corresponding to existence and so on. It also states that taintless minds and so forth are admitted to be subsumed under two natures: because they arise from multiple conditions they are subsumed under the other-dependent, and because they are non-erroneous they are subsumed under the consummate; thus the four aspects of the path also extend to the signless.
