基云：據實八道支在見道後位，若在見道前雖名正見而非道支，雖有彼行相而未建立，至修道位方得道支名故，今異生位亦名正見等，其見道等位雖不立道支，聖正三摩地彼位即有，故正見等於彼亦成，然由正見引定助定，二位俱得通名因具餘則不爾。

Ji says: Strictly speaking, the eight path-factors are in the stage subsequent to the path of seeing. If [practiced] prior to the path of seeing, though termed right view, it is not a path-factor; although it has those aspects of activity, it is not yet established [as such]. It is only upon reaching the stage of the path of cultivation that it receives the designation of 'path-factor'. Thus, in the present context, it is also termed 'right view' and so forth in the ordinary person's stage. Although path-factors are not established in stages such as the path of seeing, noble right samādhi is already present in those stages; hence right view and the rest are also accomplished there. However, because right view induces samādhi and assists samādhi, both stages broadly receive the name of 'cause and equipment', whereas the others do not.
